A brief timeline...

• WHLP-AM was established as a country radio station on November 16, 1955 in Centerville, Tennessee, serving Hickman, Lewis and Perry counties.
• WIKA-FM was added in July 1974 at 3,000 watts.
• WHLP-AM increased it's wattage from 1,000 to 5,000 watts in May 1980.
• The call signs were modified to WNKX AM/FM in August 1991.
• WNKX-FM increased power to 6,000 watts in 1996.
• WNKX AM/FM Radio Stations were purchased by Steve and Wanda Turner in 1997 as Hickman County Broadcasting Company, Inc.
• Steve Turner continues to own and manage the stations.
